Dr. Nisha Dogra, Ph.D

Dr. Nisha Dogra is the President and principal founder of Advanced Genomics Corporation. She brings over twenty years of experience in the areas of science and business and contributes leadership, vision and strategic planning to Advanced Genomics. She has been in the faculty of medicine, University of British Columbia (consistently ranks among the top ten North American Universities for its commercialization activities), Vancouver, Canada since 2001 and in the Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute (leading tertiary/ quaternary research institute, a joint venture with UBC), Vancouver, Canada since 2002. She played concurrent roles for leading groundbreaking cutting edge Genomics research projects of Canadian Institute of Health Research (CIHR) and Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC). She was responsible for strategy and implementation of all operations using Microarray Technology beginning with the start up to profitable projects. Dr. Dogra has started her research career in 1989 from the Institute of Microbial Technology, Chandigarh (one of the premier leading institute of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research), India. Besides research, Dr. Dogra held numerous roles in leadership, marketing and business development.

Dr. Dogra did her post-doctoral training in the faculty of Medicine, University of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. She has earned her Ph.D in Molecular biology from Institute of Integrative Medicine, C.S.I.R., Jammu, India and second Masters Degree in Health Care Management from Touro University International, California, USA.

Dr. Dogra has authored over several scientific publications in international peer-reviewed journals. Her work has uncovered invaluable gene expression data that has laid the groundwork for new cellular targets for the control of pathogens in combating infectious diseases like tuberculosis, cholera and leishmaniasis, and drug interactions in the treatment of asthma. Her skilful observations underscore the complexity of gene regulation and pave the way for describing how genomes function on a global basis to orchestrate biology at the molecular and cellular level.

She has been in the faculty development program of Medical Council of Canada as defined by Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. She is a member of Association of Microbiologists of India, Canadian Cancer Society and American College of Healthcare Executives.

Dr. Dogra has strong interest in global health. Her vision is to make personalized medicine a reality.

Dr. Sudarshan Kumar Bhagat, M.D. -Director of Research & Development

Dr. Sudarshan Kumar Bhagat is the Director of Research & Development at Advanced Genomics. He has 25 years of research experience from health care. He oversees the company’s research & development activities and is responsible for directing commercial operations. He serves as technical and medical expert and provides guidance to staff members for their daily activities. He is responsible for company’s expansion of Medical and Pharmacogenomics  activities. Dr. Bhagat is playing an active role in long-range strategic planning of scientific projects. Before coming to Advanced Genomics, Dr. Bhagat was visiting scientist in the department of Infectious diseases, University of British Columbia, Canada. He was Additional Professor in the department of Blood Transfusion, Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, India (one of the premier institute of India). 

Dr. Bhagat has done his MD Pathology in 1988 from Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, India  .  After completing his MD, he did his specialization in hematology / cytogenetics from the same institute. Dr. Bhagat was playing an active role in research & development of blood transfusion in India by organizing blood donation camps, seminars and conferences. Dr. Bhagat has qualified his MD degree from Medical Council of Canada in 2007. He has authored over several research papers published in peer-reviewed journals.

Dr. Shiv Kumar, PhD.- Director of Business Development

Dr.  Shiv Kumar is Director of  business development at Advanced Genomics. He is bringing 25 years of his business development experience. He is taking care of company’s business activities of all North America. He has extensive experience in establishing and maintaining corporate relationships and global science and technology alliances. Dr. Kumar was the president of privately held business firm, Plus Life Inc., USA. Dr. Kumar has done extensive due diligent on numerous companies in USA and is knowledgeable in business operations and management.  Dr. Kumar has done his PhD in Biochemistry from Punjab University, Chandigarh, India and Diploma of Technology from Muzaffarpur, India.

Rakesh Kumar, Msc. - Manager- International Business Development

Mr. Rakesh Kumar is Manager of International business development at Advanced Genomics. He is developing business strategies for company’s international market.  He is responsible for business development for Pharmacogenomics, Nutrigenomics, and Science &Innovation strategic business units. He is also actively involved in identifying grant source and coordinate with collaborators for the respective grants. Mr. Kumar has done his masters in biotechnology from M.B. Khalsa College, Indore, affiliated to Punjab Technical University, India in 2007.  Within short business span, he has shown remarkable achievements. He has designed basic frame work of KPO (Knowledge Processing Outsourcing). He has also individually designed strategies and set the market for a product in northern and central India.

Mrs. Madhu Kumar, BBA. - Director of Finances

Mrs. Madhu Kumar is Director of Finances at Advanced Genomics. She is bringing her 27 years of financial management experience in the company. She is responsible for the development of financial statements and management reports, development of accounting procedures including planning and analysis, general accounting, financial control and preparation of operating and capital budget.  Prior to Advanced Genomics Mrs. Kumar was working in the Bank of America for 27 years as Bank Manager.
